The practice of optimizing for search engines, commonly referred to as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), has become a fundamental aspect. If your company possesses a website or a business presence, you’ve likely received messages from various “SEO experts” in your email. These experts pledge exceptional and rapid outcomes, which might sound enticing. Interestingly, CJNS garners a significant portion of our new clients from individuals who were dissatisfied with the outcomes delivered by others.
At CJNS, we perceive SEO as a pivotal component that bolsters the growth of our clients’ businesses. However, it constitutes just one facet of many. While we employ conventional tools, methodologies, and strategies, we customize their implementation according to the specific requirements of your organization. SEO functions as a mechanism to draw visitors to your enterprise – yet, wouldn’t you prefer to attract exceptional visitors? Our approach to SEO encompasses the factors outlined below.
SEO or Broader Business Support? The first thing many of our prospective Clients ask us for is SEO. When done right, it will attract more prospective customers to your website. However, if a website is not equipped to handle customers or the customer experience is problematic, SEO may have a limited effect on the Client’s business. If our mission is solely on SEO, we will focus on SEO. We regard our effort as a collaboration with our Clients. To this end, if the traffic to your website(s) increases without a noticeable increase in your business, we can work with you to reduce bottlenecks in the CJNS E-Commerce Cycle to help you achieve your business objectives.
Web traffic: quantity or quality? It’s one thing to attract potential customers to your website, and it’s another thing to attract qualified, relevant prospects. Our approach includes an intake session, where we learn about your business, your customers (and who you’d like them to be), and the market you’re in. This Client intelligence helps our team use our tools and techniques that are both visible and invisible to you to help draw prospective customers to your site that will visit – and linger.
SEO – When and How Long?: If you’re thinking about SEO, it’s time to start. Many of our clients make the mistake of postponing an SEO campaign until they believe their product, webpage, photos, or blog posts are perfect. They want SEO to start and expect quick results. Other companies realize they’ve had several months of declining sales and want a quick fix. SEO isn’t like flipping a switch. It is a campaign. SEO takes several months to show results. Think of it like growing your tomatoes. You choose the variety, pick the right spot, prepare the soil, water, and fertilizer, and hold it up with a tomato stake – and 3 to 6 months later, you have tomatoes. That is, IF you do everything consistently the entire time, and external factors cooperate (no hail storms!). You can’t get the bread, make the bacon, wash your lettuce, and walk into the backyard for the perfect “T” for your BLT.
How do You Know?: We schedule briefings with our clients monthly. These are important – even in the first couple of months before the Client sees noticeable results. If CJNS needs to edit keywords, re-position your business, or make other changes – this is the time. Your company might have some exciting news or changes – we can also build this in. Once prospective customers start finding your website, the briefings take on a different type of importance. Our briefings include data on where they are, the variety of devices they use, how long they remained on your website, and whether they tried to purchase something. We follow up with a written summary but insist on a verbal briefing (conference call) so the entire team – ours and yours – are aligned on the same goals.
