Colon Hydrotherapy or Colonics is the safe, gentile flushing of warm filtered water into the rectum using no chemicals or drugs. This is a restorative, painless procedure which can be both relaxing and effective. Soothing Solutions is known for the slow and gentle way we conduct the procedure. The individual lies comfortably on their back, totally covered by a sheet and is asked to roll onto their side briefly, while the sheet is lifted slightly and a small speculum is gently inserted into the rectum. (The hoses are attached to the speculum) The therapist has control over the temperature and pressure of the water. Each step of the way we describe what is going to happen and what feelings to expect.

We will be consistently conversing back and forth throughout the procedure. This give you a chance to ask any questions that arise and gives us more feedback about what you are feeling. All of which makes for a better colonic. We start out filling at a super low pressure describing everything as we go. This gives you a chance to feel what sensations you will be getting as your colon fills with water. YOU will be telling US when your colon feels full and we immediately release it and the feeling goes away. Typically some pockets of gas or feces will be released with the water and you will see it as it goes through the viewing tube and down the drain. As you become more experienced with the sensations and more confident that we will release as soon as you say you are full, you can experiment for yourself how much pressure you are comfortable tolerating. Obviously we get a little further, a little faster, with a little more pressure. At that point we set the timer for 45 min. and we do as many of those fills and releases as we can do within that time. With each release we should get some matter or gas which then allows us to get a little further with the next fill. With some releases we may only get a small lump or two and then other releases seem to go on for a number of minutes. Throughout the process we talk about how we think you are doing and we may have suggestions about changing the water temp, the water pressure, or maybe the position you are laying in, just to name a few. By the end of the 45 min. either I am telling you that I think we got it all and we are seeing clear water being released, or I tell you how far I am guessing we got and possibly recommending another colonic.

All of the tubing and speculums are individually wrapped, disposable sets. This eliminates any possible contamination to the client from a previous procedure. The system is closed which means the waste material is eliminated through the tube, viewing tube and directly down the drain, avoiding any offensive odor or mess.
